OUR MISSION

Our mission is to educate, empower, enhance and enlighten our members

as they seek to secure solutions on growing their BUSINESS!

Import & Export Opportunities

International business development consists of exporting and importing of products, goods and services.  The Atlanta Black Business Association offers assistance and education to local small and medium sized businesses as it relates to their options presented by the global marketplace.  From travel and tourism, to entertainment, the Atlanta Black Business Association will continue to provide our members with the resources they need to compete and exceed in this global economy.

For more information on exporting and the steps to a “good strategy for import/export opportunities”, please visit the following website:  www.export.gov.

Trade is a two-way street and the Import side of the trade equation is also an important one to the continued vitality of economic growth.  Importers have the legal responsibility to manage, maintain and control a compliant and secure global import supply chain.

When buying a product or service from a foreign seller, the U.S. business must be familiar with the myriad of the many regulations that affect import operations including assessment and customs audit, target accounts, valuation methods and control policies.  The terms of the sale must also be understood.  Some other issues of importance are:  The clearance process and procedures, record retention, power of attorney, express consignment management, internal receiving procedures, customs bond procedures and defaults, along with harmonized classification line review management, American goods returned qualification procedures, and returned repaired declarations and qualifications procedures.

PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES &  INVOLVEMENT

Youth Leadership International

Business Internship Program (BIP)

Our BIP Program allows students to intern with companies so that they will have a clear understanding of how businesses operate. The students also learn the precise knowledge of the specific challenges of business ownership and how to overcome them.  The students will also learn how to handle conflict and how to resolve issues.  After completion of the program, students will receive assistance with “Building Their Business”.

Annual “Christmas is a Must” Event

This annual event identifies socio-economically deprived families and rewards them with a “shopping spree” to be used for toys, clothing and school supplies.

The Model Project

This project is operated by Travis Winkey.  This program teaches children the value and importance of sustaining positive self esteem through problem solving, math and physics. The seminars include motivational classes that give the students positive reinforcement and the ability to set goals, both short term and long term.  The program focuses on commitment, loyalty, integrity and self image.  The students also make visits to various penile institutions to understand the direct result of “wrong choices”.

AIDS Awareness & Education

This program is geared toward continuous education on the prevention and treatment of aids in all communities and in all walks of life.
